Dampier to Karratha Power Line and Substation Upgrade Engineering

Horizon Power’s Dampier Substation (DMP) and Karratha Terminal (KRT) are currently connected via a 19km single circuit 132 kV transmission line. Approximately 13.4km of the line infrastructure has reached end of life, with the other 5.6 km being changed 6 years ago. Horizon Power have proposed to replace the aging line infrastructure. The new line installation includes an OPGW which makes the microwave link between the two sites obsolete. This will be cut over as part of this project.
