Denmark WWTP control system integration project

Case Study

Denmark WWTP Control System Engineering

ACE delivered Denmark WWTP control system engineering for an upgrade to expand treatment capacity to 1.20 million litres per day (MLD). The wastewater treatment plant upgrade also supported reuse water supply to local communities.

Denmark WWTP control system scope

The work combined PLC programming, GeoSCADA configuration and industrial communications installation:

  • GE RX3i and Siemens S7-1200 PLC programming.
  • GeoSCADA work for plant monitoring and control.
  • Fibre and Profibus communications installation.
  • Updates to the Functional Control Description and Operator Manual.
  • Factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site integration testing (SIT) documentation.

Utility standards and system documentation

ACE applied its water and wastewater engineering experience to Water Corporation standards. These covered drawings, communications design, SCADA templates, documentation and PLC programming.

The updated control description and operator manual explained system operation. In addition, FAT and SIT documentation supported validation of the installed system. Familiarity with the client’s preferred equipment helped ACE troubleshoot PLCs, communications networks and instrumentation.
