FAQ

Water & wastewater SCADA questions

What water and wastewater SCADA services does ACE provide?
ACE provides water and wastewater SCADA design, programming, testing and commissioning. We also support installation and maintenance. Facilities include treatment plants, pump stations, reservoirs, bore fields, valves and metering stations.
Which utility clients does ACE work with in the water sector?
ACE’s water-sector clients include Water Corporation and TasWater. Project examples include Denmark WWTP, ClearSCADA to GeoSCADA migrations and Great Southern equipment replacement. The case studies above describe the engineering scope.
What SCADA platforms does ACE use for water utilities?
ACE works with Schneider Geo SCADA, Siemens WinCC OA and Ignition. We select and configure platforms to suit each utility’s adopted standards, existing equipment and support needs.
How does ACE approach wide-area SCADA network design for water utilities?
We review the existing communications and capture network traffic when diagnosing faults. The design then addresses site geography, equipment interfaces and reliability needs. Options include DNP3, Modbus and IEC 60870-5-104 over radio, cellular or fibre links.
Does ACE handle SCADA standardisation for multi-site water networks?
Yes. ACE develops asset hierarchies, point models, alarm settings, screen templates and naming rules. These give operators and maintainers a consistent structure across sites. They also provide a basis for future network expansion.
Can ACE migrate legacy water utility SCADA systems?
Yes. ACE’s experience includes ClearSCADA to GeoSCADA migrations for Australian water utilities. We plan the interfaces, testing and changeover around the existing system and operating requirements. Contact ACE to discuss your migration scope.
