BESS SCADA (Battery Energy Storage System Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is the control system that monitors and operates battery storage assets in real time. It manages charge and discharge, integrates with Power Conversion Systems (PCS) and Battery Management Systems (BMS), handles grid dispatch, and ensures compliance with AEMO and DNSP requirements. Without robust SCADA integration, a BESS cannot participate in grid services, FCAS markets, or revenue optimisation.
