Recently, ACE hosted a Lunch and Learn session with Siemens to focus on the A8000 controller families. A Siemens representative joined us to share valuable insights into these powerful devices, designed to support the demands of modern energy networks.
The session covered a range of topics, beginning with the hardware features. Engineers explored the controllers’ form factors, power requirements, and operating temperatures. From there, the training shifted to I/O modules and the flexibility they provide in expanding system functionality. The software discussion was equally important, addressing licensing, point limits, and user management, giving our team a clearer understanding of how these systems scale for different project needs.
Communications were another major focus, including the use of copper and fibre connections, the number of available ports, and redundancy configurations.
