Optimise Your Grid SCADA Design
Many grid-connection projects face SCADA issues well before FAT or SAT. The delays that matter most usually go unnoticed for months. They often occur because the project is locked into the wrong hardware, protocol or software platform. By the time the problem is discovered, only costly redesigns, hurried workarounds, or expensive dispatch non-conformance remain as solutions. Jordan Zhao from ACE explains in a step-by-step video presentation how ACE EMS CONNECT foresees and prevents these risks. The system improves SCADA management from the very start of your project. This method allows developers and EPCs to comply with the regulations on the first attempt while maintaining control over both schedule and budget.
4 Stage Optimising Plan
This video explains ACE’s 4 stage method for optimising SCADA implementation:
• Grid rules first: We accurately interpret your AEMO standards and TNSP requirements from the very beginning of the project. Each state and TNSP, however, have different expectations for protocols, redundancy, event handling and communication behaviour. Designing directly to these rules, we can completely get rid of the late-stage scare.
• Designed for real operations: Besides dispatch workflows, alarms, and remote access, SCADA must also be able to support the maintenance strategies. An architecture that not only satisfies your compliance requirements but also corresponds to your operational reality is what we implement – the one that you have on paper is usually quite different.
• Hardware validated through type testing: What is stated in brochures doesn’t always come true. To be absolutely certain about the response of the hardware in real conditions, ACE undertakes in-house type testing on RTUs, network devices, and SCADA platforms. Among other things, this comprises the activities like redundancy switching, I/O behaviour, buffering, command sequences and firmware quirks.
• Optimised architecture selection: We have a backing of sound equipment and platform tests done over time which enables us to select the suitable hardware for a project that not only meets the required redundancy, protocols, and performance but also is genuinely capable of facilitating them. As a result, you are not obliged to redesign when you get to the site, and your SCADA will continue being grid-ready.
Should you be the one delivering a solar farm, a wind farm, or a BESS project, then the early engagement of ACE will be of great help to you in lessening technical risk, avoiding schedule blowouts, and meeting grid obligations with confidence.
